Our craggy coast and grey waters offer much more than the red lobster that put Maine on the map. In partnership with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and local fisherman, we’re participating in Out of the Blue in an attempt to raise awareness for the lesser-known yet plentiful species in our gulf. This promotion has brought mackerel to our menus this week. It’s been exciting to create new dishes like our mackerel and tomato herb salad or our mackerel veracruz. It’s been even more exciting knowing that it’s one of the healthiest and most sustainable fish available in our waters.
